"There is always a catch" a phrase mention by my father everytime I get something for free, whether it was a free sample from the market, or a free book from the local book fair, or just pirating a video game -- although pirating a video game has its risks -- it was something my father would never forget to mention, the problem was there was never a "catch", until now.

The catch being I am currently trapped in a cave. why? Well because I had taken something for free -- a gold coin which I was handed to by a stranger, yes I know anything offered from a stranger is an absolute distaster, but I couldnt help myself, it seemed legitimate and it was legitimate, but I did not know that the coin was sort of an authentication used by some local bandits, well I found out soon enough as when I was showing of the coin to my friend, grabbing the attention of one of the locals who told on me. So here I am thrown into a cave, its entrance closed of, and intense panicking, with nothing but a torch and some food i was put here to rot eventually.

I had started stress eating, the ration meant for a day soon finished in less than two hours, "At least I would die after a hearty meal", I thought, as I lay down to close my eyes and sleep, trying to reduce my worries, I had noticed light emerging from a small crack. I rubbed my eyes -- maybe I was hallucinating -- yet the light was still there, instinctively I got up bursting with energy. Placing the torch in my mouth I was searching for loose rocks which I could pull to expose the light even further, I pull out the first stone, then the next and then even more -- this severly boosting my morale -- and as I kept pulling out more stones the light revealed itself to me more and more.

Finally the rocks gave out, my eyes could not handle the sudden burst of light, after a moment I had reopened my eyes and a tunnel stood infront of me. Suddenly I heard a voice and I quickly looked for its source.

I saw a man, "HEYYY, OVER HERE", I cried out, no reaction from the man. I cried out once more still -- same silence. This man was dressed in fine garments, a gold overcoat, embroidered with dark green patterns, he was tall with a broad back, and then, he suddenly increased his speed. I lost my patience and ran towards him .Suddenly he turned left. I followed, and when I took the same turn he dissapeared.

Right and left, no one to be seen, I grasped a hold of my surroundings. A room -- well organised -- there was a table and on it were three books, a quill and an ink bottle, one of the books was laid open. Out of curiosity I went towards the table to read, sadly it wasnt possible as the language used wasn't familiar to me. Looking around; the room was organised as I had mentioned before but the walls were cracked, there was a fan caked with dust, the table had scratches with visible cracks on it as well. This looked like a poor mans abode and I assumed this person was somewhat of an academic as he had a shelf full of books. I turned around to see the entrance from where I had entered this room, to my surprise the tunnel back to the cave dissapeared and instead a door was presented before me, and through the gaps of this old worn out door I could hear soft murmurs, and see sunlight shining through the holes and crevises.
